The summit being package by a non governmental organisation, Vanguard for Transparent Leadership and Democracy, (VATLAD) is tailored to bringing together critical stakeholders to discuss strategies to avert violence and destructions before, during and after the forthcoming Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.

The Summit will hold at the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI on Tuesday March 5th, 2019.

National President VATLAD, Comrade (Engr) Igbini Odafe Emmanuel, in a statement obtained by BIGPEN ONLINE, said that the decision to out together the event stemmed from the recent listing of Delta State among flash (Trouble) points States in Nigeria ahead of the 2019 General Elections and the sad reported deaths before and during the February 23, 2019 Elections in the State.

“This Summit is very important given reported increase in tension and determination by some candidates and their political parties to win the critical elections come March 9, 2019.

“From experience, we know that local elections like those of Governorship and House of Assembly often attract more desperations and violence leading to deaths and destructions which we intend to avert”, Igbini said.
