Engineering Faculty: Isoko Youths Give DELSU, Delta Govt 7 Days Ultimatum To Rescind Decision

Foremost Isoko youth group, Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA), has given the management of Delta State University and the state government seven days ultimatum to rescind the decision to move all first year undergraduate students of the faculty of Engineering from Oleh campus to the main campus in Abraka.
The group said the order by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Peter Peretemode to relocate the students to Abraka for lectures and other activities relating to their studies was anti-Isoko nation.
Director, Media & Strategy of the youth organization, Comrade Eniwake Orogun in a statement obtained by BigPen Online on Wednesday, said after seven days, the youths would mobilise to protest what they described as “this wicked and evil decision against our people”, saying they may not be able to guarantee the dimension the protest would take.
The statement read: “After due consideration of the situation, we find nothing that warrants such decision and conclude that it is in bad fate and leaves a sour taste on our mouths concerning the thoughtfulness of the current management of the institution led by Prof. Peter Peretemode, especially since the faculty had received full accreditation from the Nigerian University Commission in Oleh campus.
“We therefore, unambiguously, call on the government and all relevant stakeholders to prevail on the VC to immediately proceed no further with this decision and stop the willful and deliberate provocation of our people.
“For the avoidance of doubt, if the situation is not remedied within the next seven (7) days peacefully, we shall mobilize our youths and women to protest this wicked and evil decision against our people and may not be able to guarantee the dimension it will take”.
