APC Says Senator Omo-Agege Was Not Expelled, Urges Security Agencies To Investigate Ogodo, Cronies

The All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State chapter has said that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is still a bona-fidei member of the party.

Barr. Ogheneluemu Sylvester Imonina, Publicity Secretary, APC, Delta State made this known in a statement obtained by BigPen Online on Thursday.

In his statement, he said: “the attention of the State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Delta State, under the leadership of Prophet Jones Ode Erue have been drawn to a purported statement, issued by one Cyril Ogodo and some group of people, purporting to expel Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege from APC. Ordinarily, our great Party would not have bothered itself with the said statement but for the sake of correcting the mischief, same was/is orchestrated to cause to the public, hence this response.

“The position of the State Working Committee, led by Prophe Jones Ode Erue, recognized by the National Working Committee of the Party is that Cyril Ogodo and eight others, expelled from APC for anti-party activities by the SWC of the Party sometimes last week remains. That aside, the said Cyril Ogodo and his co-travelers, having been expelled from the Party, cannot arrogate to themselves the powers they do not have.

“Also, it should be noted by the general public that the said statement purporting to expel Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege did not emanate from All Progressives Congress, Delta State. The said Cyril Ogodo and his co-travelers are no longer members of our great Party, APC. The relevant security agencies have been put on notice to investigate the actions of Cyril Ogodo and his cronies for necessary sanction(s).

“In view of the above, members of our Party and the general public should discontenance the said statement, as Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege remains a bona-fidei member of APC political family,” the statement reads.
