The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has said that Governor Okowa Ifeanyi Okowa, murdered sleep the day he took his predecessor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for granted.

Oshiomhole, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Simon Ebegbulem in a statement obtained by BigPen Online on Saturday, said that with Uduaghan now in APC, Delta PDP is dead.

He described recent criticisms against the former governor since his defection from the PDP to the ruling APC as “funny”, because according to him, “the governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa knows the game is up and over”.

“I say it’s funny because the outgoing governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa knows the game is up and over. Uduaghan as governor performed extremely well in Delta State. Unfortunately Okowa lacked in continuity; vis-à-vis the developmental strides of his predecessor.

“As a man of conscience, Dr Uduagha who believes very strongly in the development of his people in the Niger Delta, rightly pitched tent with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives (APC) government, which has done well for the people of the region.

“The National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole means well for the people of the Niger Delta and he is partnering great men and women, such as Dr Uduaghan, to join with the APC team, so that the people of the Niger Delta will enjoy accelerated development. Sadly, the PDP has been weeping since the exit of Dr Uduaghan.

“But it is too late. Dr Uduaghan will join other leaders of the APC to liberate Delta from the vice of the anti-people government led by Dr Okowa. Delta State will join Edo State in the campaign to make the Niger Delta the pride of the nation come 2019.

“Dr Uduaghan is too big for Okowa, and nothing will stop the APC from winning Delta State via a free, fair and transparent election, come 2019.

“Okowa murdered sleep the day he took Uduaghan for granted, and with Uduaghan now in APC, Delta PDP is dead”, the statement added.

But, Publicity Secretary of the state PDP, Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, in an earlier statement said Uduaghan was “a man in a crisis of conscience”, saying they were not loosing any sleep over his defection.

According to Osuoza, “when it comes to politics and elections in Delta State, Dr. Uduaghan should realise that he is less than a featherweight. Does he even know how he became Governor in the first place? In 2019, we shall ensure that he is exiled into political oblivion once and for all.”

He added, “Governor Okowa has endeared himself to majority of Deltans with his stellar achievements in all sectors of the economy. They cannot wait to re-elect him come 2019.”
