Edo Community Set To Install Armour Bearer

A festive mood has enveloped Okokpon, an agrarian community in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The people of the community are putting finishing touches to the commencement of the installation rites of the community’s armour bearer which comes up on Monday, October 15th, 2018.

A statement by the priest, Igbinosun Igbinoba, chronicling the highlight of the ceremony and made available to the media stated:

“This is to notify the general public and all interested parties that the commencement of the installation rites of Smart Enina Odudu of Okokpon Community as the Akwaka (Chief armour bearer) of the community being the eldest surviving male progeny of late Odudu (the former Akwaka of Okokpon) of Ovia South West Local Government Area, Edo state.

“The rites shall commence on May 30, 2018 and culminate with the installation on October 15, 2018.
