Revert Nigeria Economy To Jonathan’s Era, Delta PDP Chairman Tells Buhari’s APC

Worried by the dwindling state of Nigeria economy under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC), the Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Olorogun Kingsley Esiso on Tuesday called on the APC, led federal government to revert the economy to the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s era.

Esiso, who spoke at his residence in Sapele while playing host to some members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, said APC lacked the capacity to lead a country like Nigeria, saying that returning the country to its former economic position before it assumed power is the only option left for them.

According to him, by 2019 Nigerians will happily vote out APC because it has become obvious that the party don’t have the political capacity to salvage the mess they caused the economy since assumption of office.

While describing the Buhari’s APC administration as “senseless and insensitive”, Esiso asserted that the ruling party lacked what it takes to rule a country like Nigeria.

“My position is this and I believe that this is the position of many Nigerians, that APC should develop this country before, but no more.

“We are no longer saying that the APC government should develop the country because we already know that they don’t have the capacity, and capability to develop the country, they should please try to take us back to where they met us.

“Before APC took over power, a bag of rice was sold for N7,000, now a bag of rice cost between N18,000 to N20,000. I don’t know how we get here, people are sleeping in filling stations.

“In fact, Nigerians are waiting for 2019 to drive away the APC and their troubles, their ‘wahala’ has become too much for Nigerians to bear.

“APC is abysmal failure, any right thinking Nigerian who is still thinking of APC in 2019 is not wishing Nigeria well, Nigerians are suffering, when you say that we are out of recession, what the common man understand is that we have come out of suffering yet we are more hungrier,” Esiso stated.

Meanwhile, the Delta State PDP chairman has boosted that the PDP will thrash the opposition parties to have a landslide victory in the forthcoming Delta state local government elections.

“We have campaigned very well and we know that we will thrash the APC in the January elections. Deltans know that we are doing well and they are behind us.”

Speaking on the insinuation by the opposition that the elections will be rigged, Esiso said, “The APC, aside being a good liars, they are also good criers. But that is not the position because the election will be free and fair.”
