Media practitioner and Niger Delta Youth leader, Mr. Chris Eriyamremu, has commended renowned philantropist Capt. (Dr) Idahosa Wells Okunbo, a retired Commercial Pilot and a business magnate, for impacting on the lives of many in Niger Delta region.

Eriyamremu, in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, in Warri, said ” it is God’s desire that the blessed and rich should uplift and bless the needy and less privileged in the society, and Capt Capt. (Dr) Idahosa Wells Okunbo, has been of great blessings to several individuals in Nigeria and Niger Delta in particular”.

“I am just moved to commend him when I discovered that  thousands of Nigerians, mostly graduates and youths in Niger Delta have been gainfully employed by Okunbo into his numerous companies which can be classified as the best human capital development from a patriotic Nigerian to his fellow Nigerians”.

“It is good thing that Okunbo is complimenting the diversification and agricultural policy of President Muhammadu Buhari by establishing a $750 million farm located at Odighi and Odiguetue in Ovia North-East Local Government Area, Edo State, creating 25,000 direct and 60,000 indirect jobs”.

The farm is expected to produce cash and arable crops such as cocoa, pineapples, pawpaw, banana and Stevia, cattle, poultry and piggery, just as it will also engage in the production of tilapia- all targeted at export and meeting the protein and milk requirement of Nigerians. The farm also has plan for agro industrial park and airstrip to evacuate products to Europe and elsewhere.

According to Eriyamremu, “from my personal assessment, Capt Capt. (Dr) Idahosa Wells Okunbo, has 98% of his investments in Nigeria and Niger Delta, to create employments and supporting the growth of Nigeria’s economy, indeed, Okunbo is a true and patriotic Nigerian who meant well for his country. His vision is worth emulating”.
