Don’t Attack Pipelines, We’ ll Suffer Environmental Degradation, Olu Of Warri Begs Militants

The Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM. Ogiame Ikenwoli on Friday November 10 applealed to the Niger Delta Avengers not to carry out its threat to attack and destroy pipelines in the region.

The monarch made the appeal at the Palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, HRM. (Engr.)Mike Omeru Ogurimerime Ukori I in Otorho-Agbon, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.

The Olu noted that the region will suffer environmental degradation should the NDA carry out its threat.

While pointing out violence does not yield any positive results, HRM. Ikenwoli urged the people to speak with one voice stressing that they’re too divided.

“We don’t get anything by violence. We must be united and speak with one voice.”

The monarch also called on the Federal Government to keep its promise to the people of the Niger Delta.

Besides, he asked the people to stop proliferating militant groups in the region just as he drummed support for the Pan-Niger Delta Forum,PANDEF and its sixteen point agenda.

The Olu who paid a courtesy visit to the Agbon monarch said,” It is not working for the region.

He warned that the Federal Government will not take the proliferated militant groups serious.

“Nobody will take you serious. There are more ‘generals’ in the militant groups today than in the Nigerian Army.”

HRM.Ikenwoli also urged traditional rulers to speak with one voice saying,”Lets stop proliferating militant groups, it is not working for us.”

Earlier in his remark, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom,HRM. (Engr.) Mike Omeru Ogurimerime Ukori I thanked the Olu of Warri for the visit and assured him to that their togetherness will bring progress for Agbon and Itsekiri people.
