Chief Security Officer to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, Mr. Lawrence Ogoegbulem may be made to cough up millions of naira which he allegedly collected from commissioners and other prominent politicians in the state for posting of Policemen, BigPen Online can report.

This is coming on the backdrop of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris’s order on Monday for the immediate withdrawal of police officers attached to some political office holders and very important personalities, VIPs, in the country.

Announcing his plans to withdraw the policemen on private guard duty, the IGP said, “In view of the current security challenges in the country, it has become expedient for the Nigeria Police Force to streamline the deployment of its personnel attached to political and public office holders, aimed at enhancing effective and efficient policing of the country.

Dependable source however told BigPen Online on Monday night that if the IGP directives is anything to go by, then Ogoegbulem, a retired Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), would have to refund all that he has allegedly collected this year, upfront payment made by commissioner to him for Policemen posting.

Our credible Government House source alleged that Ogoegbulem who hails from Agbor is known for sending Policemen who are on nominal roll of the Delta state Government to commissioners and friends of the government after collecting mouth watery sum of money from the politicians and also percentage from the policemen posted to such duty post.

“I can tell you that if this order is real then Ogoegbulem would be in for it because that is the business he is known to be doing in Government House Asaba. Some Policemen in Government House are currently being sent to some commissioners and ‘friends’ of the Government by the CSO.

“These policemen are in Government House nominal roll but they are actually attached to VIPs outside and the CSO get paid by these VIPs based on number of Policemen attached to them…of course the Policemen equally send part of their allowance to the CSO, failure to which they are being withdrawn.

“It is a malaise, that is why the CP in the state might say that he posted up to 200 Policemen to the Government House but if you do independent investigation, you will see less than 150 Policemen actually doing the work.

“What he is making is in millions and this is aside what is his entitlement as CSO. What he bargain with the VIPs and Politicians who need policemen from him are different from what he get from the policemen as returns. For one police attachee he bargain between N50,000 to N30,000 monthly, from there he takes his return and don’t forget this is aside what the VIPs are paying.

“But the depressing fact is that from the little that gets to the junior Policemen he sent to these VIPs, he still collect 30 to 40% returns.

Ogoegbulem could not be reach as at time of filling this report for publication.
