USCIS to Increase Asylum, Work Permit Fees From October 16, 2026 — See New Rates

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS, will increase fees for asylum, work permit and other immigration applications from October 16, 2026.
The agency said the new charges follow an inflation adjustment mandated under H.R. 1, with rates reviewed based on inflation recorded between July 2025 and July 2026.
According to USCIS, the revised fees will apply to applications postmarked on or after October 16, 2026.
The agency warned that applications without correct payment will be rejected.
New USCIS Fees From October 16
- Asylum Application Fee: From $102 to $105
- Immigration Parole (Form I-131): From $1,020 to $1,050
- Employment Authorization / Work Permit (Form I-765): From $560 to $570 – covers initial EAD for asylum applicants, parolees and TPS applicants
- Temporary Protected Status TPS (Form I-821): From $510 to $520
USCIS said the increases are part of annual inflation-based adjustments required under H.R. 1 and will remain in effect throughout fiscal year 2027.
The agency initially announced implementation of H.R. 1 immigration-related fees in a Federal Register notice published on July 22, 2025.
The Department of Homeland Security is required by law to review and adjust certain immigration-related fees annually from fiscal year 2026.
