2027: Lagos APC declares readiness, says ‘Tinubu’s journey to victory has begun’

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its readiness to commence grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 presidential election, saying the party is determined to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu.
The state APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, made this known on Wednesday while outlining the party’s mobilisation strategy across the state.
Ojelabi said the commencement of the presidential campaign marked the beginning of intensified efforts to consolidate the APC’s support base and strengthen the Renewed Hope mandate ahead of the election.
“As the APC commenced the 2027 presidential election campaign, Lagos stands ready and well equipped for the task of providing the necessary grassroots mobilisation and electoral strength for the victory of the party in the elections,” he said.
According to him, the party has sustained ward-level meetings and stakeholder engagements across Lagos’ 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas.
He added that women’s organisations, youth groups, market associations, community leaders, artisans and other stakeholders had been actively engaged as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.
Ojelabi expressed confidence that the APC would receive strong support from Lagos residents, citing infrastructure and other projects executed by the state government.
He listed the Lagos Blue and Red rail lines, road construction and rehabilitation, urban renewal and human capital development initiatives among projects he said demonstrated the state government’s commitment to development.
The chairman also highlighted the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange reforms and fiscal restructuring, as well as investments in infrastructure, transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture and social development.
He said ongoing road projects across the country, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and other major highway projects, were evidence of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and promote national integration.
Ojelabi said the 2027 election would provide the APC with an opportunity to present its achievements to Nigerians and make a case for continuity.
“For Lagos APC, the task is straightforward: take the message to the people. Every ward, every Local Government Area, every community, and every polling unit will be engaged,” he said.
He added that the party would communicate its policies, highlight its achievements and explain the impact of APC-led governance at both the state and federal levels.
“The objective is not merely to campaign, but to connect governance with the people and translate political organisation into electoral strength,” Ojelabi said.
Reaffirming the party’s preparedness, he said, “The structure is standing, the campaign has begun, the mobilisation has begun, the engagement has begun. The journey to victory has begun.”
