Kebbi Assembly Impeaches Speaker, Deputy

Kebbi State House of Assembly on Tuesday impeached its Speaker, Abdulmumeen Kamba and his Deputy Alhaji Muhammad Buhari-Aleiro.

The  chairman House Committee on Information and Culture, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur, announced this after a closed-door plenary session.

According to him, the Speaker was immediately replaced by Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Muhammad Abubakar- Lolo while the Deputy Speaker was replaced by Hon. Muhammad Usman.

Tukur, who did not disclose the reason for the impeachment of the principal officers, said 20 out of 24 members attended the session.

All efforts to get the reaction of the impeached speaker and the deputy speak proved abortive as they refused to speak to newsmen.
