Bribe To Process Retirees Entitlements: Delta Releases GSM Lines To Report Complaints

The Delta State Government has released two dedicated GSM lines to report complaints of person(s) demanding bribe or inducement for processing retirement entitlements in the state.

BIGPENNGR reports this was contained in a public announcement made by Director of Information, Ministry of Information, Theresa Adiabua Oliko, on Friday.

The statement reads; “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly retirees of Delta State Public Service and their relatives, that the Bureau for State Pensions has released two dedicated GSM lines to report complaints of person(s) demanding bribe or inducement for processing retirement entitlements. The numbers are (1) 08061939325 (2) 09121521851.

“The general public is by this public notice advised to report any such request to the chairman of the bureau via text messages only, stating the name and phone number(s) of the person(s) demanding the bribe or inducement to the dedicated lines, as calls will not be entertained. Every report will be treated as confidential.

“It is emphasized that the bureau will pay retirees or their relations their entitlements based on date of submission of documents and availability of funds, following the process strictly.

“The bureau wishes to state that it is a crime for anybody to suggest or solicit bribe or inducement in any form, whatsoever, to facilitate payment of retirement entitlements, and that the government of His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, desires that every retiree be paid his/her entitlements”.
