JUST IN: Buhari To Meet Ogboru, Other APC Stakeholders In Warri On Monday Ahead Guber Polls
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday visit Warri, the commercial nerve centre of Delta state for a critical stakeholders meeting ahead the governorship and State House of Assembly elections on Saturday 9 March, 2019.
Sources disclosed that Buhari is expected to be accomplished on the visit by APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi, and APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole among others.
The visit which is the first after President Buhari won reelection has long been scheduled as part of measures to reunite the party leaders ahead the governorship and State Assembly elections.
Former governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the governorship candidate of the party, Chief Great Ogboru, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Prof. Pat Utomi, Engr. Victor Ochei among other leaders of the party are expected to receive the president at the Osubi airport.
BIGPEN ONLINE gathered that President Buhari is likely to enter into a closed door meeting with the leaders during the visit.
APC presidential campaign spokesman, Delta State, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, who confirmed the visit in the telephone conversation on Sunday said that the town hall meeting would hold at Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, near Warri at 10am.
Those expected to attend the meeting, he said, include traditional rulers, opinion leaders, politicians, market men and women, national assembly members, candidates for the March 9 elections, and stakeholders in the Nigerian and Delta Project.
Ojougboh said President Buhari appreciates Deltans for voting for him in the February 23 presidential election.
