Isoko Endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori for 2027, Confers Orhuerevwo, Ododo Titles on Governor, Wife
The Isoko Nation has reaffirmed its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Tuesday during a grand reception organised in honour of the governor and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, at Isoko House, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area.
At the ceremony attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry and prominent Isoko sons and daughters, Governor Oborevwori was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Orhuerevwo of Isoko Nation (Developer of Isoko Nation), while his wife was honoured as Ododo of Isoko Nation (Beautiful Flower of Isoko Nation).
President-General of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), Prof. Chris Akpotu, said the honour was in recognition of the governor’s transformative leadership and intensified infrastructure development across Delta State.
Akpotu noted that the Isoko people’s support for Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda was also a reflection of their endorsement of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He, however, appealed to the governor to construct the road linking the IDU Secretariat to Olomoro and Iwride-Iyede, and to intervene in restoring electricity supply across Isoko land.
Responding, Governor Oborevwori described the reception as a homecoming and thanked the Isoko people for their continued support and endorsement.
The governor said the endorsement of himself and President Tinubu by the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Isoko ethnic nationalities of Delta South Senatorial District demonstrated growing political unity in the district.
Oborevwori assured of equitable development across the state, listing ongoing and completed projects in Isoko land, including the Emevor-Orogun Road Phase II and interventions in healthcare and education sectors.
He disclosed that the Trans-Warri Road and its 15 bridges had been completed and awaiting commissioning.According to him, his administration had a strong performance record to campaign with ahead of 2027.
“We have instruments to campaign. I have what to show. I have report cards,” Oborevwori said.
On the Oleh-Olomoro-Iwride-Iyede road, the governor assured that the request would receive attention, adding that efforts were ongoing to address electricity challenges in Isoko communities, which he attributed to vandalisation of the Ughelli-Ozoro transmission line.
The governor warned that the contract for the Ellu-Ovrode-Ofagbe ring road would be revoked if the contractor failed to complete the project in the first quarter of 2027.
He directed contractors handling ongoing projects to accelerate work during the dry season, warning that non-performing firms would face sanctions.
Oborevwori urged the Isoko people to translate the endorsement into votes for President Tinubu, himself and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Earlier in their goodwill messages, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Maj. Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (retd.), and the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, HRM Luke S.P. Kalanama VIII, commended the Isoko Nation for honouring the governor and called for sustained unity in Delta State.
Also speaking, the Odiologbo of Owhe Kingdom, HRM Romanus Inana Okpuzo, reaffirmed the support of Isoko traditional rulers for the administration, while former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Stella Omu, pledged the commitment of Isoko women to work for the victory of Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates in 2027.
