President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the Islamic lesser pilgrimage, Umrah.

A video of his arrival on Thursday showed the President landing at the King Abdulaziz International Airport, where he was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and the country’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

Tinubu departed Abuja for the pilgrimage following an announcement by the Presidency in a statement issued on October 28, 2026, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the President is scheduled to perform the religious rites of Umrah in Makkah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.

The Presidency said the visit would provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for the country’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the pilgrimage.
