11 Years After, Grant Ecosystem Group Writes Tinubu Over Outstanding Grant Payments
Members of the Grant Ecosystem under the auspices of the Grant Community Decide Movement (GCDM) have written to President Bola Tinubu seeking urgent intervention over purported outstanding grant payments they claim have remained unresolved for about eleven years.
In a letter of assurance and commitment addressed to the President and signed by its President, Amb. Prof. Greg Stephens, the group said its members comprise Grant Fighters, Pressure Groups, Grant Handlers, Coordinators, NGOs and Cooperative Heads across the 36 states and the FCT.
The group said the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the payments has caused anxiety and financial hardship, and appealed for an official statement on the status of the grants and a timeline for verification and payment.
The GCDM said it is ready for constructive engagement with the Federal Government and requested a meeting with relevant authorities to clarify outstanding issues.
The group had previously urged the Federal Government to release the grants, saying they were meant to support citizens and reduce economic hardship.
Leaders of the movement had alleged that the funds have been held at the Central Bank of Nigeria.
There has been no official response from the Presidency or the CBN on the status of the said grants as of the time of filing this report.
BigPen Ngeria has not independently verified the existence or approval status of the said grants by the Federal Government or CBN.
Claim: Grant Ecosystem says 11-year grants are held at CBN.
Finding: No official statement from Presidency, Finance Ministry or CBN confirming these grants as approved federal programmes as of Oct 2026.
Advice: Verify all grants only via cbn.gov.ng or presidency.gov.ng. Do not pay for grant slots.
