2027 poll: Arewa Youths in Warri South Endorses Tinubu, Sheriff, Other Candidates, Pledges 5/5 Victory
The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the Arewa Hausa Quarter, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates during their monthly meeting held today ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The APC Chairman of Arewa Hausa Quarter, Warri South, Hon. Zango Nafiu, declared the community’s support for the party, saying the APC had established a strong political structure in the area.
Nafiu told our correspondent, that the party’s victory in the last general elections demonstrated its growing acceptance among residents, adding that the recent alignment with former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters had further strengthened the party’s structure.

“As you know, the APC is already on ground in Hausa Quarter. In the last general elections, our resounding victory showed that we are firmly on ground. Now that we have merged with PDP faithful as one family, our mandate is to deliver from the Presidency down to the House of Representatives,” he said.
Speaking on the mobilisation strategy ahead of the elections, the Vice Chairman of Arewa, Comr. Ladan Abdullah, said members of the community were easy to mobilise because of the empowerment initiatives of the Sheriff Oborevwori administration.
According to him, the various government programmes and empowerment initiatives have helped strengthen the relationship between the government and members of the community.
He assured that the people of Arewa would turn out in large numbers to vote for APC candidates across the board, describing the support as necessary for the continuation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also speaking, the guest speaker, Comr. Joseph Edegwa Ogheneovo, commended the incumbent administration for what he described as its responsiveness to the needs of the people.

Ogheneovo said the government had demonstrated commitment and loyalty to the people, expressing confidence that greater dividends of democracy would be delivered if the administration was given another opportunity to serve.
“If given the opportunity to come back for a second tenure, he will deliver more dividends to this community. We therefore have implicit confidence that he will continue to give a listening ear to our demands,” he said.
He added: “We are very optimistic that the government will also increase the dividends that have been coming before now.”
Ogheneovo described the gathering as a platform for the community to formally declare its support for the APC and its candidates.
Meanwhile, the Delta South Constituency Youth Leader on Non-Indigene Affairs, Comr. Safiyanu, said the meeting was also aimed at sensitising youths on responsible political participation.
He said the youths were being given proper orientation on how their participation and conduct could contribute to positive political change.
Similarly, the National Secretary of Ward 9, Warri South, Comr. Zaidu Usman, said the Arewa community had adopted strategies to ensure massive voter participation in the forthcoming elections.
According to him, youths in the community were being encouraged to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the electoral process.
“With this strategy, we will be able to give Sheriff and the APC our full support,” he said.
Speaking on measures to protect votes and ensure a peaceful election, the Wazirin Sarkin of Warri and environs, Adamu Muhammed Sanusi, said previous elections conducted at the Unity Arabic Centre, Hausa Quarter, had been peaceful.
Sanusi expressed confidence that the forthcoming election would also be peaceful, stressing that adequate structures had been put in place to ensure the orderly conduct of voters.
“The previous election results in this Unity Arabic Centre, Hausa Quarter, have shown that elections can be peacefully conducted here. Now that the APC is stronger than before, I don’t think there is any cause for alarm or violence in this unit.
“I can assure you that structures have been put in place to ensure that the people who come to cast their votes are well organised. Everything has been put in place even before the elections,” he said.
