2027: Pro-Hilary Support Groups Mobilize Across 9 Delta North LGAs for Okowa’s Senate Bid
…As Okowa storms Mbiri amid mass endorsements
Ahead of the official campaign declaration for the 2027 general elections, several political coalitions operating under the umbrella of the Dr Hilary Ibegbulem Support Groups have commenced a massive grassroots mobilization for former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s senatorial ambition.
The groups are regrouping in vast numbers across the nine local government areas of Delta North Senatorial District—spanning Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, Ika North-East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, and Ukwuani—to anchor a people-driven campaign.
The pro-Hilary groups have charged themselves with taking the stellar governance scorecard of Dr. Okowa directly to the electorate.
The campaign support groups are highlighting Okowa’s landmark infrastructure projects, including the Asaba Storm Water Drainage system, the construction of the ultra-modern Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, and the total transformation of the Asaba International Airport.
Furthermore, the groups are leveraging his human capital legacies, particularly the establishment of three new state universities (UNIDEL Agbor, Delsuust Ozoro, and Dennis Osadebay University) and his highly successful STEP and YAGEP youth empowerment schemes, which provided critical skills and capital to thousands of youths across the state during his tenure as governor.
Demonstrating this growing momentum, a prominent affiliate group, the Ndokwa-Ukwuani for Hilary (Ika Chapter), led by Comrade Okonji Jerry, led a massive delegation of party faithful to the residence of Dr. Hilary Obi Ibegbulem on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
During the solidarity meeting, the group officially declared its unflinching alignment, endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his return bid to the Senate, and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly in the Ika nation.
Speaking for the group, Comrade Okonji emphasized their absolute readiness to deliver overwhelming grassroots votes for the APC.
Responding, Dr. Ibegbulem commended the delegation for their solid commitment and clear vision, encouraging them to stay focused as work continues toward achieving a strong collective outcome.
Meanwhile, the festive mood shifted to Mbiri Community (Ward 12, Ika North-East), where enthusiastic supporters, party leaders, and stakeholders gave a rousing welcome to Dr. Okowa.
Accompanied by his principal secretary, Dr. Ibegbulem, the visit underscored the APC’s deepening penetration at the grassroots level.
The occasion also marked the official commencement of the Councillor’s Empowerment Programme, providing vital support materials and resources to 200 constituents within Mbiri Ward.
Similar empowerment initiatives are scheduled to roll out seamlessly across communities in Ika North-East and the wider Delta North Senatorial District.
From Mbiri, the political signal shows the grassroots are ready, the party structure is intact, and the movement for total APC victory in 2027 is gathering unstoppable momentum.
