Ogorugba Mobilises Isoko North for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the council area, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting programmes and policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
Ogorugba made the declaration Thursday when he welcomed the Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon and the Delta South Senatorial District Coordinator, Surv. (Chief) Peter Akarogbe, to Isoko North.
The engagement attracted political leaders, government representatives, community stakeholders, ward coordinators and a large number of residents from across the Local Government Area.
Speaking at the gathering, Ogorugba said the meeting was important because it provided an opportunity for the people to better understand government policies and programmes while also creating room for constructive interaction between the people and political stakeholders.
The council chairman said his administration would continue to support initiatives capable of promoting economic stability, infrastructure development, improved livelihoods, youth development and women empowerment.
He said: “The Renewed Hope Agenda is about giving Nigerians hope and creating opportunities for our people. As leaders, our responsibility is not only to make policies but also to ensure that our people understand those policies and are carried along in the development process.
“We must continue to encourage our people to remain optimistic and contribute positively to the growth of our communities. Government cannot achieve meaningful development alone. There must be a strong partnership between government, political leaders, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and the people.
“In Isoko North, we are committed to people-oriented development. We will continue to support programmes that can improve the welfare of our people, strengthen our communities and create opportunities for our youths and women.
“I therefore urge the people of Isoko North to remain united and continue to support initiatives that are designed to bring development to our people. We must be constructive in our engagement with government, ask questions where necessary and, most importantly, participate actively in programmes that will move our Local Government and Delta State forward.”, Ogorugba stated.
The council chairman further urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the ward and local government levels to intensify grassroots engagement, stressing that effective communication with the people remained critical to the success of any government programme.
Ogorugba, who reiterated his administration’s readiness to work with relevant stakeholders, said the council would continue to prioritise initiatives capable of delivering tangible benefits to the people while strengthening collaboration between government and communities.
Earlier, the Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon explained the objectives of the organisation and highlighted various policies and programmes of the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Funkekeme also interacted with the people, providing explanations on government initiatives in areas including economic development, infrastructure, social intervention and opportunities for Nigerians.
The interactive session allowed residents and stakeholders to listen to the presentation, ask questions and gain further insight into the direction of the administration.
Also in attendance were the Delta South Senatorial District Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Surv. (Chief) Peter Akarogbe, Executive Director of Finance, DESOPADEC, Chief Kome Okpobor, former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovuruzoye Macaulay, APC Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Area, Comrade Omonakome Sunday, Deputy Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Isoko North LGA, Comrade Ovie Umouakpo.
Others were the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification and President-General of Emevor, Chief Erezih Okpomo; Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Barr. Evelyn Aluta; ward councillors; Renewed Hope ward coordinators, as well as other political leaders and stakeholders.
The meeting ended with a renewed call for unity, constructive engagement and collective responsibility in advancing development across Isoko North Local Government Area.
