Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate closure of the secretariat of the dissolved Ad-Hoc Committee on the Sale of Federal Government Houses.

The directive follows President Bola Tinubu’s approval of the dissolution of the Presidential Implementation Committee (PIC) on the Alienation of Federal Government Landed Properties.

The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had said matters concerning the dissolved committee would henceforth be handled by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi.

In a statement on Wednesday, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, said the minister had approved the creation of a division under the Department of Land Administration to handle the sale of federal government houses in the FCT.

The new division will take over responsibilities previously handled by the defunct committee.

The statement urged members of the public to direct all enquiries concerning the sale of federal government houses in the FCT to the Department of Land Administration.

It also warned the public against fraudsters posing as officials or members of the dissolved committee and its secretariat.
