Ohworode of Olomu Begins Kingdom-Wide Tour Ahead of First Coronation Anniversary
HRM Albert Akpomudje, SAN, Eyavwien-Alaka I, Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, will on Thursday commence a tour of communities across the kingdom as part of activities marking the first anniversary of his coronation.
The royal tour is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the traditional institution and the people of Olomu Kingdom, while providing the monarch with an opportunity to engage directly with chiefs, elders, youths, women and other residents.
The Ohworode announced the planned tour during a media interaction following a general meeting of chiefs and leaders of the kingdom.
During the visits, the monarch is expected to familiarise himself with the various communities and receive feedback on issues affecting their people, as well as discuss matters concerning the peace, unity and development of the kingdom.
Community leaders and residents are expected to receive the monarch warmly and express their appreciation for his leadership and efforts towards promoting unity and development since his ascension to the throne.
The community tour, which is expected to continue until September, forms part of activities leading to the first anniversary of the monarch’s coronation in November.
The anniversary celebration is expected to provide an opportunity for the people of Olomu Kingdom to reflect on the achievements recorded under the reign of HRM Albert Akpomudje, SAN, while celebrating the culture and unity of the kingdom.
The Ohworode is also expected to use the tour to reaffirm his commitment to peace, unity, cultural preservation and sustainable development across Olomu Kingdom.
The first anniversary celebration is anticipated to attract traditional rulers, government officials, political leaders, dignitaries, indigenes of Olomu Kingdom and friends of the kingdom.
