A pro-Peter Obi group, PETOOP is set to be inaugurated as a formidable grassroots political movement dedicated to the promotion of good governance, accountability, transparency, and responsible leadership in Nigeria.

The group, christened, “Peter Obi Our President” (PETOOP), which has chapters in other countries across the globe is a movement made up of patriotic Nigerians who believe that Mr. Peter Obi possesses the vision, competence, integrity, and leadership qualities necessary to rescue Nigeria from its present socio-economic and political challenges.

Delta State Chapter, Director, Media & Communications of PETOOP, Prince Enahoro Erijoh, who disclosed this in a statement, on Wednesday, said that Nigeria stands at a critical crossroads in her democratic journey with citizens faced with numerous challenges ranging from economic hardship and infrastructural decays to insecurity and widespread poverty.

He said Nigerians are seeking credible leadership capable of restoring hope and charting a new course for national development which according to him, Obi is offering.

Erijoh said PETOOP is more than a political movement, but a call for national renewal, responsible leadership, and a new dawn for Nigeria.

The statement reads; “For many supporters, Peter Obi’s record in public service distinguishes him as a leader committed to prudent management of public resources, fiscal discipline, investment in education, healthcare, and human capital development.

“During his tenure as Governor of Anambra State, he earned national recognition for his emphasis on accountability, infrastructural development, and the effective utilization of public funds.

“Today, Nigeria continues to grapple with serious developmental concerns, despite being richly endowed with natural and human resources, millions of citizens face economic difficulties, unemployment, and declining living standards. Insecurity has become a major concern across various parts of the country, with communities experiencing threats from criminal activities, including kidnapping and violent attacks.

“Many Nigerians therefore yearn for a leadership model that prioritizes the welfare of the people above personal interests.

“PETOOP represents a collective aspiration for a better Nigeria, a nation where public resources are managed responsibly, institutions are strengthened, and government works for the benefit of all citizens.

Erijoh said that the political movement has continued to gain momentum across the federation and in diaspora, having successfully inaugurated chapters in about nineteen states, including Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Imo, and several others.

He said that the growing nationwide presence which cuts across demographic lines reflect the increasing support for the ideals and principles championed by the movement.

“As PETOOP continues to spread its message across Nigeria, the movement remains committed to inspiring citizens to participate actively in nation-building and democratic engagement. The inauguration of the Delta State chapter symbolizes not merely the establishment of another state structure, but the strengthening of a collective vision for a prosperous, secure, and accountable Nigeria”.
