Tinubu’s Daughter Kicks Against Lagos APC Primaries, Threatens Showdown
The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria and daughter of President Bola Tinubu, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo has threatened to mobilise a protest over the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries in Lagos State
She made the purported threat on Wednesday during a meeting with market leaders in Ikeja, alleging that the exercise was manipulated in favour of the Justice Forum faction.
She questioned the validity of results from constituencies including Mushin II, Agege II, and Ojokoro.
The Lagos APC, led by Cornelius Ojelabi, had earlier released its list of House of Representatives and State Assembly candidates, confirming 24 House of Representatives nominees and 40 Assembly candidates for the 2027 elections. Among those listed were Mojisola Meranda and others across the state.
Tinubu-Ojo insisted that some aspirants, including Seye Oladejo, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo, and Olotu Ojo, were the rightful winners and should not be denied their mandates. She called for an urgent review of the primaries to avoid deepening internal crisis.
However, Tinubu-Ojo called on APC leaders at both the state and national levels to investigate the disputed primaries before the final ratification of the results, warning that unresolved grievances could deepen divisions within the ruling party
“We are ready to protest… their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” She said.
She also warned that rising tension between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group could weaken APC unity ahead of the 2027 elections, urging fairness and inclusion for all members.
She further noted that market women remain a major political force in Lagos politics and deserve greater recognition in governance.
