Govt Confirms How Kebbi Speaker Died in Egypt
The Kebbi State Government has confirmed the death of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai.
The governor, in a condolence message, expressed deep sorrow over the passing, saying that the demise is a great loss to the Government and people of Kebbi State.
Ankwai who represented Zuru Constituency and widely regarded as a seasoned lawmake, passed away in an Egyptian hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
He died on Monday night after a protracted ill health.
The governor said the Speaker was a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the growth of democratic governance and legislative development in the state.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Kebbi State, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, extends heartfelt condolences to his family, the Kebbi State House of Assembly, and the entire people of the state over this painful loss.
“We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace”.
