Delta Police Nab Murder Suspects in Coordinated Raids
The Delta State Police Command has apprehended two suspects wanted over the alleged murder of Alex Adanike in Ughelli, Delta State.
The arrests were made possible through targeted police raids conducted by operatives led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, the arrest, underscored the Importance of raids on identified criminal hideouts within the State.
Edafe, in a statement, on Tuesday, recalled that on the 20th of January, 2026, members of Supreme Vikings Confraternity aka Aro Bagger gruesomely had shot and stabbed to death one Alex Adanike aged 31yrs of Agbhara-Otor Community.
The deceased was mistook for his twin brother, Okpako Adanike.
The statement said extensive investigation into the matter earlier led to the arrest of two suspects, Warri Ochuko and Lucky Okohwoake who both confessed to the commission of the crime.
Edafe said, two additional suspects namely Tega Micheal aged 26yrs and Tena Sagbene, 32yrs, were arrested following the recent raid on criminal hideouts in Ughelli and Warri areas of the state, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of the department of operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
During investigation, the arrested suspects were identified by the suspects in custody as part of their gang members who murdered the deceased on the said date.
“All suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and were today 31st March 2026 arraigned before the Ughelli High Court and remanded in prison custody”.
“The command emphasizes the importance of proactive policing which includes intelligence gathering, raids and stop and search duty. It serves not only as a mechanism for easy apprehension of criminals, but also to forestall criminal activities, there by restoring peace and sanity in the State.
“The Commissioner of Police has lauded the commitment of officers for sustaining the fight against crime and criminality and taking the war to their door stop, thereby making the state unhabitable for them. He also urged Deltans, residents and non residents to be law abiding, and respect the rule of law”.
