Delta: 2 Robbery Suspects Nabbed, Double-barreled Guns, Fabricated Pistol Recovered
Emmanuel Solomon, a 38-year-old man, has been arrested in connection to an alleged attempted robbery in Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, Warri South local government area of the state.
Operatives from ‘A’ division Warri of the Delta State Police Command, arrested him on March 9 after the police, following a distress call were said to have mobilised to an alleged robbery scene, in collaboration with members of the community, and cordoned off the area.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said that during the operation, one suspect, identified as Emmanuel Solomon, male, aged 38 years, was apprehended within the premises.
“A thorough search of the surrounding area led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barreled cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges. Investigation is ongoing”, he added.
Edafe disclosed that in a separate incident, on 25 March 2026, operatives of the Command’s Raiders Squad, while acting on credible intelligence, carried out a stop-and-search operation along the Benin–Asaba Expressway by Custom Market, Oshimili North Local Government Area.
He said that during the exercise, one Aminu Inusa, male, aged 23 years, was intercepted and a search conducted on him led to the recovery of one locally fabricated Beretta pistol.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and investigation is ongoing, he added.
The statement said the command commended the operatives for their professionalism, swift response, and commitment to duty, urging members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information. It added that the command remains resolute in its determination to rid the state of criminal elements.
