By Bulou Kosin
The Niger Delta Grassroots Organization (NDGO), has urged Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to ensure an inclusive employments in his Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd, PINL, the same way Tompolo’s Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, and Dr Dennis Otuaro’s Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, is building Niger Delta unity and strength across board.
The group’s statement endorsed by its National Coordinator, Itsekiri-born Comrade Weyinmi Olley, was in reaction to Ogiame Atuwatse III’s recent swipe at both foreign and local oil companies over alleged neglect, especially Itsekiri nation, a situation the monarch said was worsened by self-serving community leaders.
“We urge the Olu of Warri to continue to expand employments at PINL to forge deeper inter-ethnic unity just like Tompolo’s Tantita which also engages all ethnic groups in the Niger Delta for oil assets protection.
“This togetherness enhances strength on our already loud contribution of oil to national economic prosperity and remains the sure way to attract recognition and development from the oil companies”, Olley maintained.
The statement added: “We appreciate Dr Dennis Otuaro for his inclusion of more groups within limits of his assignment at PAP, recently including more beneficiaries of Isoko and Itsekiri in Delta and engineering the arms surrender of persons of Cross Rivers State extraction.
“This demonstrates that the people of the Niger Delta can work together for peace and progress of the nation with support of President Bola Tinubu”.
“We urge that rather than divisive actions, all ethnic groups should pursue peace and unity for therein lies strength for attraction of developmental attention from oil companies”, the NDGO statement concluded.
