Anioma State: Bill Creates No Room for Merger — Nwoko’s Political Adviser

Published

on

Chief Emmanuel Eboh a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reaffirmed that Senator Ned Nwoko is committed exclusively to the creation of Anioma State with Asaba as its capital, in line with the bill he has sponsored at the National Assembly.

Chief Eboh, who serves as political adviser to the Delta North senator, made the clarification in a statement issued in Asaba, stressing “Senator Nwoko’s irrevocable resolve to actualise the Anioma State project as conceived by its founding fathers led by Sir Dennis Osadebay over seven decades ago”

He explained that while Senator Nwoko is not opposed to state creation agitations in other parts of the country, his position remains clear that “Anioma would neither merge with any other proposed state nor accept a relocation of its capital from Asaba”

According to Eboh, “the lawmaker is firmly focused on the realisation of Anioma State and was not in negotiation with any group to alter the original letters of his bill” which had gone beyond second reading and public hearing.

He noted that the growing support from over 100 pro-Anioma interest groups and about 95 senators has further strengthened Nwoko’s determination to pursue the initiative to a successful conclusion.

The APC stalwart said Anioma had remained a legitimate and genuine demand as it is rooted in justice ,equity and true federalism.

Chief Eboh expressed appreciation to the various stakeholders for their solidarity, and described Nwoko’s effort as “the boldest and most extensive legislative push for Anioma State by any senator of Anioma origin in recent history”
