Christmas: Isoko South Boss Brings Cheer to Elderly, Presents Food Items, Cash
Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, has brought cheer to some elderly in the council area, presenting food items, gifts and cash to them for the Christmas celebration.
the chairman, also visited some of the elderly who could not make it to the presentation venue by delivering their items to them at the comfort of their homes.
Presenting the items to selected elderly individuals across Isoko South at the Otobo Hall, council secretariat, Oleh, Warri enjoined the people of the area to eschew bitterness and embrace love, kindness, forgiveness and togetherness, which Christ represents.
He emphasized the significance of love, kindness, and unity during the festive season.
The council boss noted; “This is a season of love, not because of abundance, but like the three wise men who presented Jesus with gold, frankincense, and myrrh at his birth, demonstrating that even modest means can yield precious gifts when driven by love and kindness towards humanity. It’s a season of love; let’s spread the joy across to everyone, especially the early ones among us.” Warri said.
While extending his appreciation to the council’s management team for their unwavering commitment and dedication to serving the local government area, Warri promised a better year in 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Evangelist Ogogodo expressed profound gratitude to the council chairman and management staff for their benevolent gesture towards them and therefore offered prayers for continued generosity and wished the chairman and his team long life in perfect health.
Highlight of the event was the visitation of representatives from the chairman to the residences of some elderly citizens who couldn’t made it to the event to deliver food items, gifts and cash as well as conveying a message of hope from the council chairman to them.
Iterms such as rice, gifts and cash were presented to the elderly by the chairman’s team led by the council vice chairman, Theresa Ikrike, accompanied by the Special Adviser to the chairman, Ozoro Efe Okolosi and the majority leader of the Isoko South legislative arm as well as supervisory councillors and others.
