Albert Akpomudje, SAN, is the 14th Ohworode of the ancient Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area in Delta State.

The paramount ruler would now be referred to as Alaka-Eyanvwien I, the Ohworode of Olomu kingdom.

The monarch chose the title Alaka-Eyanwien I based on the historical fact that Eyanvwien was Alaka’s first son and a co-founder of the Olomu Kingdom.

The new monarch was crowned at Eyanvien Hall in Otorere by Olorogun Philip Korobor Atuduhor, the Okpako r’ Illorogun (Oldest Chief) of the Olomu kingdom, and then consecrated by Archbishop of Bendel Province, Dr. Cyril Odotemu, followed by 21 cannon shots.

Following the crowning, the monarch was led in a long motorcade to Eyanvien Hall at Oviri Olomu, the headquarters of the Eyanvien Ruling House, where he was greeted with another 14 cannon shots, symbolizing the 14th Ohworode of the Olomu Kingdom.

The motorcade then proceeded to his palatial palace in Akperhe Olomu for a lavish reception.

The event was held in accordance with Olomu’s three ruling houses’ rotational succession plan and marked a new chapter in the kingdom’s leadership.

Akpomudje was formally installed after his predecessor died, accompanied by traditional rites, drumming, and community celebrations.

In his remarks, the new monarch pledged to uphold peace, tradition, and development for the people of Olomu, while also promising to collaborate with the traditional council and younger generations.
