Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general election in Delta State, has indicated interest to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the new coalition party in the country barely few months after dumping APGA for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports the alleged moves by Ogboru who dumped the APC in 2022 and joined APGA, only to return to the APC early this year, may unsettled some political forces in the state as alignment for 2027 intensified.

Ogboru, who has a long history of party hopping, was early this year allegedly accused by APC Elders and Leaders in Ethiope East of being a ‘serial party hopper’, having contested governorship elections under various parties, including the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), Labour Party (LP), and the APC.

Ogboru, who holds the highest record of election contention in the state since the advent of democracy in 1999, may likely block the chances of other political gladiators in the state who may want to form alliance with ADC.

The Delta State Chairman of ADC, Engr. Austine Okolie who was seen with Ogboru on Friday, July 18, 2025, in a trending photo confirmed that the visit was political as Ogboru has indicated interest to join the party.

“Yes, that was yesterday. He has shown interest to join the party. But he will come down to the secretariat at Asaba to declare formally. We are waiting for his open declaration.”, The Story quoted Okolie as saying.
