Law Firm Disowns Document Claiming Natasha had Demanded ₦10B In Damages From Hubby Before Her Marriage

Indemnity Partners, a reputable law firm specializing in legal practice and notarial services, has issued a strong disclaimer regarding a fraudulent document circulating on social media.

The document, falsely attributed to the firm, alleged that its client, Mrs. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, had demanded ₦10 billion in damages from her husband, Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, before their marriage.

In an official statement dated November 4, 2022, and signed by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) B.C. Igwilo, the firm firmly dissociated itself from the purported letter.

The Law firm described the document as “inauthentic and of dubious origin,” emphasizing that it was neither issued by them nor held any legitimacy. The firm urged the public to disregard the letter in its entirety.

The misleading document, which has been widely shared online, claimed that Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan had leveled serious allegations against Chief Uduaghan, including breach of promise of marriage, and was seeking substantial financial compensation.

However, Indemnity Partners categorically denied any involvement in the creation or endorsement of such claims, reaffirming its commitment to upholding professional and ethical legal standards.

This development highlights the growing problem of misinformation in the digital age, where false documents can quickly spread and mislead the public. Indemnity Partners’ swift response underscores the importance of verifying information before accepting or disseminating it, particularly in legal matters.
