Isoko North LG Extends Curfew In Ozoro Over Cult Groups’ Clash

The Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, has extended the curfew imposed in Ozoro, headquarters of the council to 9:00am for shops, market, restaurant, beer parlours and eateries.

Goodwin Ogorugba had last week imposed a curfew in Ozoro from 7pm-6am daily following a blood clash between two cult groups resulting in the killing several people.

Meanwhile in a statement titled “Review of Restriction on Shop, Okada/Keke operation in Isoko North”, signed by Vote Umukoro,
Secretary to the local government on behalf of the council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, the council, said the review of the curfew was carried out Tuesday during an emergency meeting of peace and security of the council.

“At an emergency meeting of peace and security of Isoko North Local Government Area held today 25th February, 2025. It was decided that it was paramount to review the restriction time on vehicular movement and commercial transaction in Isoko North Local Government Area.

“Effective from today 25th February, 2025 the restriction on Okada/Keke operation remains 7pm-6am. While shops, market, restaurant, beer parlours and eateries are to close at 9pm. However cars and other big vehicles are exempted from this restriction.

“The security committee has graciously extended the registration of all unregistered vehicle to the 30th of March, 2025 as there is a scarcity of plate numbers at the moment. Please adhere strictly.”, the statement concluded.
