Senate Committee: Senator Joel-Onowakpo Hails Tinubu, Akpabio, Others

Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, has expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, on his appointment as Chairman, Senate Committee of Local Content.

Senator Joel-Onowakpo, in a statement he personally endorsed christened “My Gratitude,” and made available to newsmen, also expressed appreciation to the Deputy President of the Senate, His Excellency Senator Barau Jibrin CFR, the Senate Majority Leader, His Excellency Senator Michael Bamidele Opeyemi CON, and the entire Senate leadership, for the confidence reposed in him.

He promised to work tirelessly toward promotion of local content policies that would drive economic growth, empower Nigerians, and enhance national development, just as he said that he will deliver the assignment before him with utmost integrity.

According to the statement, “I am profoundly grateful to His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the President of the Senate, His Excellency Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON, the Deputy President of the Senate, His Excellency Senator Barau Jibrin CFR, the Senate Majority Leader, His Excellency Senator Michael Bamidele Opeyemi CON, and the entire Senate leadership, as well as my esteemed colleagues and friends for their support and confidence reposed in me through my appointment as Chairman, Senate Committee on Local Content.

“This honour is not taken lightly, and I pledge to discharge my duties with utmost dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to the advancement of our legislative responsibilities.

“I will work tirelessly to promote local content policies that drive economic growth, empower Nigerians, and enhance national development.

“With humility and determination, I embrace this opportunity to serve the Senate, our great nation, and humanity at large.

“Once again, thank you for this esteemed honour. Together, we shall achieve remarkable progress.”

While thanking his constituents for their unwavering support to him since he was elected into the Red Chambers, Senator Joel-Onowakpo promise to do his possible best to ensure that what is due his people will surely get to them.

He called on Nigerians to continue to support President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in his determination to return the country to economic growth and overall development of the citizenry.
