Exposed: Reps Member, Okolie Accused Of Faking Performance Claims

A group under the aegis of Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency has accused Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, of making false claims about his performance.

The group claims that Okolie’s handlers have been spreading unsubstantiated assertions and taking credit for projects executed by others.

In a statement issued by its chairman, Dr Tony Curtis and Secretary, Mr. Austin Madu, on Saturday, the group said; “It is scandalous that instead of accepting failure, after the news break of Hon. Okolie’s total disregard for the people and abysmal failure to attract any meaningful contribution to infrastructural and empowerment programs for our Federal Constituency since his assumption to office, his handlers shamelessly rushed to the media with conjured performance claims in a failed bid to hoodwink and delude our constituents.

“Our Group notes with dismay that credible fact-checks indicated that performance claims made by Hon Okolie’s Press Unit were mostly unsubstantiated assertions and appropriating of credit to programmes and interventions executed by other individuals.

“A forensic review of the performance claims made by Hon Okolie’s Press Unit indicated clear footprints of fabrications. Curiously, the Press Unit claimed that Hon. Okolie provided solar powered streetlights in different communities as well as table and chairs to some schools in the area but failed to name the particular beneficiary communities, the specific beneficiary schools and precise number of streetlights and school furniture provided.

“Moreover, from the reports coming to our Group, no community in Aniocha/Oshimili had testified to having received any streetlights or school furniture from Hon. Okolie. However, there are reports of such intervention by other well-meaning entities to certain communities. We hope that Hon. Okolie’s handlers are not plotting to claim credit to such interventions.

“Furthermore the Hon. Okolie’s Press Unit claimed that he distributed bags of fertilizers to “large number of farmers”, empowered over 300 constituents including some farmers with skill acquisition and cash grants but curiously again failed to state the particular number of bags of fertilizers, the specific number of beneficiaries and their particular communities.

“It is very disturbing to note that most of the performance claims made by Hon. Okolie Press Unit remains questionable and unverified. The claim that Hon. Okolie plans to repair some Federal Highways also shows serious footmarks on the borderline of false promises. The Press Unit curiously did not indicate the particular Federal highway and there is no accompanying course of action towards such claim.

“More disquieting are allegations that Hon. Okolie’s handlers are now going around communities seeking to procure certain individuals to pose as representatives of beneficiaries of the fictitious projects. There are already insinuations that these handlers have perfected plans to rent certain privately-owned property and present same as constituency projects executed by Hon. Okolie.

“Our Group alerts the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of plans by Hon. Okolie’s handlers to launch a massive media hype of fictitious projects, false performance claims and appropriating of credit to projects executed by other entities.

“In any case, the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency cannot be fooled by Hon. Okolie. They know that his is a case of calamitous miscarriage of leadership with its attendant disappointments, regrets and disillusionment, being irredeemably insensitive and lacking in the required capacity, vision and dedication to the people; a situation that validates the growing demand for his recall across Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency”.
