Ofehe Says Gov Oborevwori’s Solid Road Infrastructure Will Boost Warri Refinery’s Operations

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s, efforts to develop the state’s infrastructure are expected to boost the operations of the newly resuscitated Warri Refinery, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on External Relations and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Sunny Ofehe, has said.

Ofehe, who made the assertion while speaking on a tv programme monitored in Warri, on Friday, said that PDP-led administration of Governor Oborevwori, has been working tirelessly to provide solid road infrastructure for the refinery to operate optimally.

He, however commended President Bola Tinubu and the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for reviving the Warri Refinery, which is now functioning at 60% of its 125,000 barrels per day capacity.

Ofehe, noted that the operationalization of the refinery would enhance the infrastructural development agenda of Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

He said that the governor Governor Oborevwori was working round the clock to ensure key infrastructures like the Warr refinery tailored to boost the state’s economy, work optimally, saying that Delta state government is delighted for the successful revival of the Refinery.

He said that the Warri Refinery, now functioning at 60% of its 125,000 barrels per day capacity, was a major step in reviving Nigeria’s oil refining sector, which has struggled with years of inactivity.

According to him, the governor at inauguration had promised to give Warri a facelift, and he is passionate about the resuscitation of the refinery by the federal government and NNPCL hence the state had given its full support to the revival of the refinery.

“There has been huge infrastructural development in the state for the past one year, the governor has been focused with his MORE agenda. Currently there is ongoing construction work taking place to expand some road networks connecting the refinery and he is building flyovers in Warri axis so the timing is very perfect for the state and of course the government would do everything to encourage such an investment because it would not only create jobs for the people but boost the economy of the state.

On the FDI profile of the state which has dwindled, Ofehe said that the governor is doing everything humanly possible to build infrastructure that would better attract foreign investors to the state.

He said that to attract foreign investors, Governor Oborevwori is prioritizing infrastructure development, addressing logistics and infrastructure challenges, expressing optimism that the state would improve its economy indexes of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)and FDI portfolio this year.
