The Kano State polity has once again been heated up, as the immediate-past Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, has threatened to expose the governor of the State, Abba Yusuf and his godfather, Rabiu Kwankwaso “at an appropriate time”.

Bichi spoke for the first time since his removal from office alongside five other commissioners by the governor in December 2024.

Addressing his supporters on Thursday shortly after returning from Saudi Arabia, the former SSG vowed to exposed his former political allies, saying he had incriminating documents, videos and voice notes.

In apparent reference to Messrs Yusuf and Kwankwaso Bichi described the duo as treacherous and deceptive leaders.

“I’m happy that I have finished my tenure in peace. As you know, this is not the best time to talk, but at the appropriate time we will expose them so that people will understand the kind of people they are.

“They are not trustworthy people… They’re very deceptive. They don’t know anything except treachery and betrayal. They are not people to be trusted.

“We have documented everything from written to audio and video evidence,” he said in a terse address to his supporters.

Before his sack as the SSG, the state chapter of the New Nigeria People Party, NNPP, suspended him for alleged disloyalty to the party and its leadership.

Bichi was at odds with the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso, after secretly leading a political group, Abba Tsaya da Kafarka, clamouring for Mr Yusuf to part ways with his godfather.
