The group, Niger Delta Grassroots Organisation, (NDGO), has called on the Federal Government to concession the Warri Refinery to the Engr. Kestin Pondi-led Kalm Marine & Petroleum Services Ltd to enhance oil sector deregulation and access to oil by Niger Deltans.

National Coordinator of NDGO, Comrade Weyinmi Olley made the recommendation in a statement released to newsmen, on Monday.

He said that the call for concession of the Warri Refinery is occasioned by need to make petroleum products available at all times to all Nigerians, especially to the riverine oil producing communities which have only seen/purchased oil products at “shamelessly higher cost”.

Olley disclosed that Engr. Kestin Pondi’s Kalm Marine & Petroleum Services Ltd recently completed developing it’s first oil well in Ogbanabou Oil Field.

He said that Pondi who doubles as the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, has shown passion and commitment to security of the nation’s oil resources by pushing oil production to near 2 million barrels per day, for a more promising national economy.

“Given proven passion and commitment to the national economy, we trust that Kalm Marine and Petroleum Services Ltd is one company the Federal Government can give the Warri Refinery for activities that will reverse the shame on Nigeria that oil producing areas have no easy and cheap access to oil products”, he said.
