Why I’m Passionate About Showcasing Nigeria’s Potentials To Foreign Investors – Sunny Ofehe

Dutch-Nigerian environmental rights activist, Dr. Sunny Ofehe, has explained why he is passionate about showcasing Nigeria’s potential to foreign investors.

Ofehe said that Nigeria, as a country has huge natural and mineral resources potential couple with its rich human capital development, to noost its foreign investment portfolio.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https:bigpenngr.com) reports that Ofehe said that prospective foreign investors are reaching out to him for possibility of investing in Nigeria because he has over the years built a network of prospective local and foreign investors as well as built the trust and credibility needed to showcase what Nigeria has to offer.

“As a patriotic Nigerian, I believe in the country’s huge natural and mineral resources potential and its rich human capital development,” Ofehe explained.

Nigeria is still Africa’s largest economy with a huge population of around 200 million people, 70% of whom are under 25 years old.

Despite Nigeria’s current economic challenges, and the negative narratives, he said that the stories from the foreign investors he brings to the country are always different and positive.

“I clearly understand the odds that can stand between good intentions towards the country, but we must not be deterred or discouraged because it’s a natural phenomenon,” he said.

He said that his efforts have already yielded results, with Italian investors agreeing to bring multiple million-euro investments to Nigeria.

He, however commended his Nigerian friends. Ismail Okunola, Robinson Ovedhe,who came with him from Italy and England, while also acknowledging “Philip Thomas, Henry Oduose, Augustine Ofehe and my ever dependable Joe Ogbodu, Edward Omonigho, Iredia Omoragbon and Israel Ikougu and Mr. Agbor for their support,” he added.

Ofehe, further said that his dedication to attracting foreign investment is driven by his desire to create quality jobs for Nigeria’s youth, saying, “This trip is dedicated to the Almighty God for the benefit of the many jobless young people desiring a quality paid job”.

“Our diversity should be our strength and that is why I will remain an advocate of a united Nigeria. I clearly understand the odds that can stand between good intention towards the country but we must not be deterred or discouraged because its a natural phenomenon” he enthused.

According to official data from the World Bank, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Nigeria was worth 362.81 billion US dollars in 2023, while the GDP value of Nigeria represents 0.34 percent of the world economy but the country’s Foreign Portfolio Investment, increased to 4,416.719 million US dollar in June 2024 up from 1.400.390 million US dollar in March 2024.
