UPDATED: Governor Fubara To Swear-in Newly Elected Rivers Council Chairmen Today

Rivers state Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, will today Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear-in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4pm.

Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Wenike Danagogo disclosed this in a public announcement on Sunday afternoon.

He said that the newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30pm.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reported that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, had declared the winners of the local government elections, with 22 of 23 LGAs won by the Action Peoples Party (APP).

The All Progressive Congress, APC, and the former governor Nyesom Wike’s controlled PDP boycotted the election.
