Police Arrest 2 Suspected Kidnappers And 4 Cultists In Delta State

Peter Idogor (24 years old) and Emmanuel Sunday (19 years old), have been apprehended in connection with a kidnapping case in Delta State.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports that the victim was forced to pay an undisclosed amount of ransom for his release.

The suspects were reportedly apprehended by men of the Delta Police Command following a technically generated intelligence-led investigation on Tuesday, March 5th.

The state police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrests, stated that the suspects allegedly participated in the abduction of an unidentified man.

The incident took place on October 31, 2023, when three armed men kidnapped the victim.

Following the kidnapping, the suspects contacted the victim’s family and demanded a ransom of Five Million Naira.

Prompt action was taken by the Divisional Police Officer, who mobilized detectives and conducted a thorough search of the area to locate the victim and apprehend the culprits.

The victim was eventually released after the ransom was paid.

The DPO was said to have continued the investigation, leading to the arrest of Peter Idogor and Emmanuel Sunday on March 5th.

The victim reportedly identified the two suspects.

Edafe said that investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to apprehend other members of the gang who are still at large.

In a separate incident, the CP – DECOY Squad in Delta State, have arrested four suspected cultists and armed robbers.

The operatives acted on credible intelligence regarding cultist activities had apprehended the suspects on March 6th.

The arrest took place at a hotel by College Junction in Asaba, Delta State.

According to Edafe, upon sighting the operatives, the suspects attempted to flee, but four of them were eventually captured after a pursuit.

The suspects, identified as Chigozie Edwin, James Prince Chukwuebuka, Harmony Mkemjika Ohanebum, and Garba Jubril, were found to be in possession of two Beretta pistols, a cut-to-size gun, and live ammunition.

The police are currently conducting a manhunt for the remaining members of the gang, he added.
