Workers Shut Down Shoprite In Warri Over Unpaid Yearly Bonuses

Shoprite workers in Warri, commercial hub of Delta State, on Saturday, shut down the shopping mall situated on the Effurun roundabout in protesting of unpaid yearly bonuses.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com) understands that the choppers who were at the mall at the wee hours of Saturday were disappointed as workers had locked the entrance of the mall.

It was gathered that the workers are protecting their unpaid bonuses which ought to be paid in full but was reportedly reduced.

A staff of the outlet who preferred anonymity told newsmen that the row with the management was because only a thousand naira was paid as bonus for the past year which was against their contractual agreement.

No management staff of the shopping mall was available to comment on the development as of when this story was filled for publication.
