Delta Police Boss, CP Ari Muhammed

The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Ari Muhammed, was never abducted in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa Command, CP Muhammed Baba, has refuted social media claims of an alleged abduction of the police boss.

www.bigpenngr.com reports that a social media post attributed to one Mikiya on Facebook, had claimed that Ari Muhammed, the commissioner of the Delta State Police, was allegedly abducted close to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

However, CP Muhammed Baba stated that the information on social media was false because such an incident didn’t occur in the state.

Addressing reporters in his office on Wednesday, the police chief said: “The command has to state that, inasmuch as it does not want to give the social media handle the attention it is seeking, it however wishes to state that the news publication is false and misleading.”

The commissioner therefore urged members of the public to disregard the news as it is the handiwork of mischief makers.

The Delta State Police Public Relation Officer, Edafe Bright, in a terse statement issued to newsmen in Asaba, the Delta state capital, also refuted the alleged claims making the rounds in the state.
