Man Reportedly Burnt Alive By Angry Mobs For Stealing Phone In Delta

A man suspected to have stolen a phone at Onos Estate junction in Udu council area of Delta State, has been reportedly burnt alive by an angry mob.

The man simply identified as London had attempted to rob an unidentified woman off her handset when he met his waterloo.

Local sources revealed that the suspect reportedly shot at the victim for refusing to let go off the mobile phone but the gun shot caught attention of some youths who gave him a hot chase.

“The sound of the gunshot attracted residents of the area who gave the suspect a hot chase and set him ablaze afterwards”, one resident who craved for anonymity revealed.

It was not clear if the victim of the robbery survived the incident, but a resident of the area said she was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe said there was no such incident in the area.
