Police Arrest 3 Men Who Robbed Household With Toy Gun In Delta
The Police said the suspects namely Choice Macaulay (26), Endurance Ejokirehie (27), and Junior Macaulay (21), allegedly broke into a house on Old Benin Road, Oghara, around 2 am on August 8, 2021, and made away with phones valued at N400, 000.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement, said on hearing the sad event, the Divisional Police Officer in Oghara swung into action, and detailed operatives to investigate and bring the armed robbers to book.
Bright said the detectives, through intelligence-led operation, arrested the following suspects at an Indian hemp smoking joint.
He said exhibits recovered from them include three phones, a dummy gun and an iron rod used for the robbery.
“Suspects confessed to the crime and the victims have identified the stolen phones as theirs. On further investigation, it was discovered that one of the suspects, Choice Macaulay, who is the leader of the gang, was arrested before and charged to court but was later released.
“The suspects led the detectives to their hideout where one locally-made gun and two live cartridges were dug out from the ground where it was buried.
“The investigation is ongoing,” he added.
In a related development, the police says a gang of four armed robbers who were operating at MTN road by pipeline Sapele, have been arrested.The DPO Sapele led crack team in conjunction with vigilante and during the operation four (4) suspects namely; James Wisdom a.k.a young diamond ‘m’ age 25yrs, Peter Ayodele ’m’ age 22yrs, Ikolo Micheal ‘m’ age 18yrs and Francis Success ‘f’ age 26yrs were arrested and the following items were recovered from them; three (3) cut to size single barrels gun with eighteen (18) cartridges, a Lexus car with Reg. No. YAB 750 BP.DSP Bright said that Investigation is ongoing on the matter.“The Commissioner of police Delta state command has warned criminally minded people that Delta state will not be a safe place for them.
