Again, Gunmen Abduct Two In Buhari’s Home State
A yet-to-be identified gunmen, on Sunday night raided another town in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state of Katsina, taking along with them two persons.
BIGPENNGR.COM understands the the attack took place at Zamfarawa community behind Bank of Agriculture building along Bakori bye pass at about 11pm.
The attackers came with sophisticated weapons as they arrived in the community on motorbikes, shooting to scare and kill.
This came about 24hours after a police and vigilante group rescued over 80 children in Mahuta community and less than two weeks after terrorists abducted over 300 students of Government Science Secondary kankara in Katsina state.
Hamisu Maikarfe, a resident of Zamfarawa community told HumAngle that “the group stormed our village in the night shouting and shooting guns”.
“They terrorized the whole community before moving into our house and abducted my younger brother, Nafiu. Then entered another apartment and kidnapped one Mallam khamisu Dan Agaji,” Maikarfe added.
Residents said the group didn’t spend much time like the usual hours of terrorizing people.
Musa Aminu, another resident who escaped being abducted by the gunmen while returning from Funtua township said he was shot at by the terrorists.
“On my way to our community, I sighted them with heavy guns like they are going for a war. They shot gun at me but couldn’t get me at all,” Aminu narrated.
“Immediately I escaped their attack, I reported them to Funtua police command and they responded within a short notice.”
HumAngle learnt that the police arrived shortly after the group left the community with the victims.
As of the time of filing his report, the group has not made any call or contact.
Katsina State in the northwest region of Nigeria is frequently facing terror attacks despite efforts by the Nigerian Army to establish Operation Sahel Sanity Exercise and a super army camp in Faskari to check the activities of the criminal armed groups operating in the zone and other parts of the region.
