Tens of hundreds Christians drawn from various denomination of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Delta state, on Sunday held what they called ‘black Sunday’ service to mourn those killed by security agents during the #EndSARS protest nationwide.

Delta State chairman of PFN, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi, led the service with the message titled ” Why God allows protests “.

He told the black wearing congregates that even God recognizes protests as a way of expressing grievances against constituted Authorities.

Recalling the protest led by Moses and Aaron against the oppression of the Israelites by the government of Pharaoh in the book of Exodus, Enakirerhi noted that it was that God directed protest that eventually led to the freedom of Israel .

The Delta State PFN Chairman said it was sad that government security agencies shot and killed hundreds of unarmed youths who were only protesting the oppression by the police and other bad policies of the state.

He declared the support of the church for the youths , saying the blood of the youths that died must never be allowed to be in vain.

The PFN state Chairman urged President Buhari to speedily accede to the request of the youths , and called on all aged politicians who have ruled the country since independence to give way for young Nigerians to take over the leadership of the nation .

In his remarks, National Vice President, South South, of the PFN , Bishop Simeon Okah , said the nation wide youth protest was an answer to the prayers of the church for an end to corruption and bad leadership.

While lamenting the bloodshed that resulted, Bishop Okah commended the courage of the youths who paid the supreme price in the fight for a better Nigeria .

He urged other youths to be bold and continue the advocacy for freedom using all legitimate and peaceful platforms available to them .

He cautioned against looting and vandalism of public property , and warned hoodlums not to allow anyone use them to derail the focus of the agitation .
