A video clip of a man believed to be writhing in pains from military onslaught on peaceful $EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, yet still find recourse to join others in singing the country’s national anthem, has gone viral.

BIGPEN reports that some of the protesters were told that singing the nation’s anthem during such peaceful protest would wage off soldiers from shooting at them but they were dead wrong.

The protesters were heard singing the first stanza of the national anthem as the soldiers fired shots which killed some of them.

A twitter user, Irunnia, who tweeted the clip, said that he was blown away by the man patriotic zeal despite not having idea if he will be shot dead or live from the protest venue.

“Nigerians in Lekki Toll gate singing the national anthem not knowing if they will see tomorrow alive. I’m literally crying now #EndSARS #Genocide”, he wrote.
Stephanie Hegarty, a BBC Population correspondent who had formerly worked for the BBC in Nigeria, apparently touched by the post, tweeted about the video clip which has kept the microblogging site buzzing after the horrifying military onslaught on the protesters.

“This man’s voice breaking with emotion as he tries to sing the Nigerian national anthem as gunfire pops in the background. Heart-breaking”, she tweeted Tuesday night.
