Ibrahim Magu, the embattled acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has been suspended from office by the presidency.

The suspension followed the ongoing investigation by a presidential panel headed by Justice Ayo Salami.

BIGPEN had reported that Magu was arrested on Monday over alleged weighty 22 allegations contained in a memo by the Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami.

The Presidency is expected to officially issue a statement on the suspension before the day runs out.
